1921 - 1982
Born in 1921 in Quebec, Freda Wales was educated at McGill University, graduating as a Gold Medal winner and a degree in physical education. She served in the Canadian Women's Army Corps in WW II, served briefly with the federal Department of Health before moving to Nova Scotia in 1947.
A prominent figure in and enthusiastic supporter of a number of sports, "...she gave freely of herself in so many ways in her tireless effort to promote those activities in which she was keenly interested".
