Starting in his school days, Bob Bartley has contributed continuously to organized skiing both in British Columbia and nationally.

1958/1959
President, Western Division, Canadian Ski Association where he focused on the potential development of junior competitive skiing at the national level.

1961 National Junior Chairman developing the national rules and scoring procedures for team events. In this same position, he attempted to establish a progressive system of advance merit that would lead to National Team membership and improved potential for international success.

1964/1965 President, Western Division, Director of the Canadian Ski Association.
